On 20 November 2014, it was announced that Mel Gibson was in talks to direct the true biographical story based war film, Hacksaw Ridge. Gregory Crosby originally wrote the story and Robert Schenkkan and Randall Wallace wrote the script while Wallace was attached to direct film.the project developed by Walden Media and producers Bill Mechanic of Pandemonium Films, Presentation permit by David Permut, while co- producer of the film are Gregory Crosby , Steve Longi and Elexa Ruth. IM Global closed a deal to finance the film on 9 February 2015 and sold the film into an international film.
