Her father was an army officer posted in Manipur and her mother, Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia is a school principal. She has a younger brother Arpit Singh Ahluwalia who studying at Drexel University in the USA. She graduated from the Army institute of law, Mohali. By profession, she is a lawyer, model, and actress.

Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia sparks her career with her first Indian tv show Choti sardani (2019-2022). She plays the role of Meher Kaur Dhillon/Seher Kaur Gill in this show till 2022. She was also seen in some music videos like Maastani (2018) by singer B Praak and Jaani and Serious(2019) by Bannet Dosanjh.
Currently, she is a contestant in Big Boss season 16 (2022).
